S2 Ep 18 "Dave"

(started 5/20/10 23:40)

WTF Hurley? I get it that you are freeing yourself from the burdens of your secret food stash, and your hoarding addiction. Do you have to waste the food in order to do it?

Because as his punishment, the camp wants him to be in charge of the NEW food supplies, the items with parachute found the night before. Hurley refuses, then runs off as he sees a guy in a bathrobe across the clearing, who he knows from back at the asylum. It's Dave!

BTW Sayid is back to torturing the fake-Henry prisoner guy. I've watched to many seasons of "24" because Sayid is not nearly as effective as Jack Bauer, this is taking too long to get the truth out of him.

Meanwhile, Dave is Randle P MacMurphy-lite. He gets frustrated trying play basketball with theother patients, coerces Hurley to start skipping his meds and plans on breaking out. As long as Billy Bibbit doesn't end up committing suicide, it's all okay with me. Does this mean Hurley is Chief and he has to lift a water fountain/spray hose stand to bust out?

Later Locke speaks with Henry. Henry tells him about what happened during the number sequence he helped with. Nothing happened after the clock wound down and the res'black pictgrams danced for him. The clock re-set to 108. He never entered the sequence into the computer at all. But he could be lying, you know.

Turns out - Dave is truly Hurley's imaginary friend. At the asylum he isn't a patient, he's entirely in Hurley's head. In his subconscious. Dave tries to convince Hurley that the island is all in his head. He never left the hospital, never won the lottery, never took a plane to Australia.

Libby gets Hurley to accept he's a real boy after all. Howefver, at the very end in a flashback we see she was also a patient at the asylum. Ooooh.

This episode ended up feeling like it was three hours long!
