S2 Ep15 "Maternity Leave"

Anyway... Baby Aaron has a fever. Locke gets Jack to go to Claire's place. While she's waiting Danielle approaches her and declares the baby is infected.

When Jack arrives he passes it off as nothing to worry about, suggesting it's Roseola, which babies get at Aaron's age. But is Roseola is it spontaneously naturally occurring or would he get it as a virus? If nobody is sick in the camps how would a baby come down with something? I am not a pediatrician.

Claire asks Libby to help out with recovering her memory from when she was kidnapped. She seems to remember when they were pushing a needle at her belly that her captors said it was a vaccine.

Under hypnosis she realizes that Ethan the Creepy Cruise Cousin was treating her during her captivity. In a nice OB style room.

The also had a nursery set up for her. The Santa Claus dude is talking to Ethan (without the bushy hair and beard) about the list.

Claire's flashbacks show that Ethan was actually nice to her and he insists they are good people and a good family for her and her baby. They are giving a vaccine, but there's only enough for the baby.

They eventually find the bunker where the hospital clinic and nursery are, and of course it's vacated. Kate finds a closet with a case on the floor containing spirit gum and a fake beard. Santa Claus!!!

It's a little murky as to what seems real since Claire was on drugs and she's reliving memories spurred on by hypnosis. It's possible this ALL is one giant false recovered memory. The upshot is that Danielle was the one who took her back to the Lost camp as close as she could to save her from having the baby removed from her by surgical means. Claire was about to stay with the Others, she was calling out to Ethan.

Danielle can go lurking back into the jungle alone now. She causes confusion for me.


Mr Eko goes to see Henry Gale, which by the way is definitely a fake name. That's Dorothy's uncle in the Wizard of Oz. And he got there in a balloon?

Eko does a great job of intimidation by telling a completely unrelated story about killing some guys when he first got to the island and showing Henry a gigantic knife and cutting his beard doodads off. Bravo Mr Eko. Henry is going to need a new pair of pants.

Claire is back with the baby and telling him how much she loves him. Fever is broken and he's in the mend.

Henry's going to be a wedge. He's conniving and he just got some insight the relationship of Jack and Locke without even trying. Manipulator in the midst!
